QUALITY
Incoming, in-process and final inspection, supported by product-specific testing and pre-shipment review.
CERTIFICATION & AUDITS
Our quality management system is ISO 9001 certified.
Our audit experience also includes amfori BSCI assessments and successfully completed factory audits for Walmart, The Home Depot and Lowe's.
Product specifications, critical features, reference samples and inspection requirements are reviewed before production.
Drawings, specifications, intended use and critical product features.
What is checked, the applicable method and the acceptance requirements.
Where checks occur and what results or decisions need to be recorded.
Checks begin with incoming materials and continue through processing, operation handovers, finished-product inspection and shipment review.
Incoming materials, purchased parts and externally processed components are checked against the relevant requirements before use in production.
Checks during processing and at defined operation handovers focus on dimensions, condition and function before parts move to the next operation.
Finished products are checked for appearance, assembly, fit and operation against the product requirements.
Pre-shipment review covers product identity, quantity, packaging, labeling and the inspection information required for release. Customer-appointed third-party inspections can be arranged before shipment.
On-site laboratories in China and Vietnam support product inspection and testing. Tests are carried out at the appropriate stages of development and production.
Dimensions, interfaces and assembly fit, including relevant sheath-fit checks.
Blade hardness and specified edge geometry for applicable knife programs.
Sharpness and cutting checks for knives, scissors and relevant tool working ends, including fishing-plier line cutting. Edge-retention evaluation for applicable knife programs.
Opening, closing, locking and retention checks for relevant assemblies, including shovel locking and fishing-plier gripping checks.
Load checks, including relevant shovel programs; repeated-operation checks for mechanisms and scissors; drop testing for applicable hand tools.
Corrosion testing for applicable fishing and outdoor products.
Routine production checks and batch sampling differ from development or validation testing. Destructive and durability tests use selected samples, not every shipped unit. Test methods, frequency and location depend on the program; not every test is performed at both laboratories.
Nonconforming or suspect product is held for review before further use or shipment.
Identify and control the affected material or product.
Assess the issue, affected scope and appropriate disposition.
Carry out the approved disposition and verify the relevant requirements.
Release product only after the required checks and authorization.
Disposition may include rework, supplier return or rejection. Where corrective action is needed, causes are reviewed and actions checked for effectiveness.
Current drawings, specifications and approved reference samples provide the inspection basis.
Inspection results, status and release decisions are recorded against the relevant batch or work order.
Inspection equipment is selected for the measurement task, with verification or calibration managed as required.
Relevant requirements are passed to suppliers, and changes affecting the product are reviewed before implementation.
